UHA-3 USB DAC and Headphone Amplifier

The UHA-3 is a hand-built, high-performance headphone amplifier which features a USB interface and high-quality Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) for streaming audio from a computer. It also has a 3.5mm analog input jack for connection to any device with a stereo analog output, including portable MP3 players, and a rechargeable battery which can be charged through the USB connection.

The UHA-3 is designed specifically for audio enthusiasts who use desktop or laptop computers for headphone listening. Rather than using the computer's headphone output, which is often noisy and underpowered, digital audio is streamed directly out of the computer to the UHA-3 where it is converted to an analog signal with a high-quality audio DAC. The high-power amplifier stage is more than capable of driving a clean, low-noise signal into a wide range of headphones and earphones. The result is an increase in sonic detail and richness, revealing the musical subtleties you were meant to hear.

The UHA-3 can also be used as a USB DAC and low-noise preamplifier for a home stereo system. It is capable of driving a maximum output of 13 dBu into a high-impedance load such as the line-level input on a stereo receiver.
