Now available is a dual-to-single op-amp adapter which allows a dual op-amp to be used in a socket for a single-channel op-amp. The adapter uses a parallel configuration which combines the two outputs of the dual op-amp into one. This circuit technique is commonly used for increasing the effective output current of an op-amp, resulting in a higher maximum output power and lower overall distortion when driving headphones.
I’ve been operating Leckerton Audio as my side business since I started the company in 2007. During that time, I’ve been tremendously lucky to hold engineering positions at some very well respected audio companies, but having a full-time day job has often left me wishing I had more time to spend on my real passion: headphone audio. So I’ve decided to finally make the jump. I’ll be giving up my day job so I can focus solely on expanding Leckerton Audio and developing new headphone amplifier products. When I was hand assembling my first circuit boards in 2007, I had no idea the business would come this far. I’m so excited to have this opportunity to take it even further.
During this transition, I’ll be relocating myself and the company to Portland, Oregon. Like my current home town of Austin, the city of Portland is abound with makers and tinkerers and inventors of all sorts. Portland is also wetter, not as hot, and, well… different. Sometimes you just know when you need a change of scenery. So please bear with me while I get things situated in my new home. I expect I’ll have my operation up and running again by the middle of April.
Many thanks to all of my customers. You'll be seeing some cool new stuff very soon.
I recently attended the local Head-Fi meet here in Austin. It was a great opportunity to listen to some excellent-sounding gear and meet some of the other folks who really appreciate good audio.
Thanks to Chris Martens at Hi-Fi+ for his write-up of the meet! You can find it here:
